This software helps to run Internet Explorer without being affected by desktop activities (suitable for unattended kiosk mode).
This simple program enables you to run Internet Explorer version 8 and higher as a kiosk platform. It will not be affected by the Windows Desktop and other unwanted keystrokes. Secure Lockdown will run in the background and enable Internet Explorer to run exclusively. The Internet explorer could be customized and configured to your specific needs. This software utility is compatible to Windows versions XP, Vista, & and version 8. All desktop actions such as right click menu, task manager access, Ctrl-Alt-Del actions, shutdown or logoff actions, windows ease of access, help and support are removed. The task bar on the desktop and start button are removed. All these ensure none of these actions could be taken by any user of the machine used in the kiosk.Command-line and unattended installation as well as enable/disable handling is all disabled. All kinds of OS access are also not available to a user of the kiosk. These include Alt-tab, Alt-F4, Alt-Esc, Alt-Shift-Esc, CTRL-Esc, CTRL-Shift-Esc, Windows Key and F1 (Windows Help), F3 (Windows Search) also are not available. Just so the machine could be set up and configured properly, following actions are allowed on the machine. These include independent user accounts that use or do not use Secure Lockdown on one computer. It also allows for many Internet Explorer customizations not available through the Internet Explorer interface. These include define the startup URL, run Internet Explorer in Kiosk mode, keep Internet Explorer maximized (if it is minimized) and keep it running if it is closed, restricting of access to selected sites only, preventing printing, removing of individual menu bars, enabling on-screen keyboard helper, etc. This is a very good tool.
